Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS: Diploma or Certification in Culinary Arts, Bakery, or Pastry Arts Strong knowledge of baking techniques, dough fermentation, and pastry production Minimum of 3 years' work experience in a luxury resort or hotel setting Previous experience in Maldives resort or in a remote location PERSONAL QUALITIES: Strong communication and problem-solving skills Able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude Candidates should show energetic leadership and great communication skills. OVERVIEW: This role is responsible for overseeing all bakery operations, ensuring the highest standards in baking quality, hygiene, presentation, and consistency. This role involves supervising the baking team, developing new products, managing production schedules, and maintaining inventory and cost control. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervise and manage the daily operations of the bakery section. Prepare a wide variety of baked goods including breads, pastries, cakes, and specialty items. Plan and develop new bakery recipes in alignment with seasonal themes and guest preferences. Ensure quality, freshness, and consistency in all bakery items. Monitor stock levels of ingredients and place requisitions as needed. Train, schedule, and supervise bakery staff. Ensure all bakery equipment is properly maintained and in safe working condition. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery area in accordance with HACCP and resort hygiene standards. Collaborate with chefs and F&B team for special events, themed nights, and guest requests. Control wastage and ensure cost-effective production.
